These Texting Terms and Conditions ("Terms") describe the terms on which Canal Insurance Company ("Canal," "we," "us" and "our") offers text messaging (SMS) communications to you in connection with claims services and related servicing. By enrolling in or participating in Canal's text messaging program (the "Program"), you agree to these Terms. Your use of the Program is also subject to Canal's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, including applicable terms of limitations on liability and the resolution of disputes.
Canal Insurance Company, including its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, "Canal"), would like to welcome you to our text messaging program for claims servicing. Canal may use a third-party vendor to provide you with information regarding your claim via text messaging. This has no impact on your policy or coverage as it may relate to a claim.
There is no separate charge from Canal for this service, but message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. By providing your consent to participate in the Program, the account holder approves any such charges from their mobile carrier. You may contact us at any time to change these preferences.
If you have provided us with your mobile number, we have your consent to send you automated text messages to service your claim. Messaging frequency may vary. Your consent allows us to use text messaging for information and claim servicing. You are not required to consent to these Terms as a condition of purchasing any property, goods, or services.
The information (Phone Numbers) obtained as part of the SMS consent process will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
If you have consented to receive text messages from Canal Insurance, you may receive messages related to our central operations and customer service support, including:
Example: "Hello, this is a friendly update regarding your recent inquiry with Canal Insurance. You can reply STOP to opt out of SMS messaging from Canal Insurance at any time."
Message frequency may vary depending on the type of communication and your interactions with us. For instance, you may receive up to 2 to 3 SMS messages per week regarding your active inquiries or account status.
Please note that standard message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier's pricing plan.
You may opt-in to receive text/SMS messages from Canal Insurance through the following approved methods:
Additionally, you may sign up for the Program by responding "Yes" to the welcome message that will be sent from your Canal claims representative. By opting in to this service, the number of text messages received and sent may vary depending on account activity and your participation in the Program.
After signing up, you will receive an invitation text message asking you to confirm your enrollment request. The message states: "Hi {FirstName}, this is Canal Insurance. To text with your claim representative, please review and agree to the terms and privacy policy by replying 'Yes.' Msg and data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out."
You can opt-out of receiving SMS messages from Canal at any time. To stop receiving text messages, reply STOP to any text/SMS message. You can also notify your Canal claims representative directly, and they will remove you from texting. You may receive a confirmation of your request. To opt back in at any time, reply START.
We reserve the right to terminate this text messaging service, in whole or in part, at any time without notice. The information in any text message may be subject to certain time lags and/or delays.
For help at any time, reply HELP to any message you receive, or contact us using the information in the Contact Us section below or by visiting the Contact US page on our website. Upon replying HELP, you may receive a standard-rate message stating: "{First Name}, for assistance with your claim text messaging, call 1-800-452-6911 or email privacy@canal-ins.com."
